Helmet use is clearly on the rise. A.S.Adventure notices a steady increase in bike helmet sales since covid years, with a further +16% growth in 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. The strongest growth is seen in adult helmets, though children’s helmets are also seeing a slight increase.

“We’re seeing more and more people choosing the bike, both for commuting and for cycling holidays such as bikepacking,” says Greet Anthoni, PR manager at A.S.Adventure. “Today, one in four Flemings cycles to work, which is twice as many as 20 years ago. The rise of e-bikes and speed pedelecs, improved cycling infrastructure, and the growing popularity of cycling holidays all play a role. At the same time, wearing a helmet is becoming more widely accepted, although there’s still progress to be made, especially among younger riders.”
